equal slopes™ advances its mission through 3 focuses:

1) free equipment: providing free ski racing equipment and maintenance education

2) free sessions: professionally managed intros for any curious kid who thinks ski racing might be fun; and free practice sessions for those on the path

3) scholarship programs to participate on independent ski racing teams

  1. Equipment Donation and Tuning Education

You can’t get on the hill if you don’t have skis. And you can’t get on edge if your skis don’t have sharp edges.

2. Free Training Sessions and Practice Sessions

Want to try ski racing? That “want” is all you need. (And you need to be a kid. Sorry adults, too late for you). Our training sessions are ALWAYS FREE for all junior athletes.

3. Independent Support for Athletes with Limited Family Means to Participate on Existing Ski Racing Teams

The country’s ski racing teams challenge youth to learn a complex and exhilerating sport. Renaissance coaches act as experts, scholars, athletes, teachers, and friends. The admins work miracles. All are underpaid. We thank you teams and coaches! Equal Slopes raises independent funds to help pay for athletes with limited family means to participate on ski teams around the country, with a particular focus on the Intermountain West.

(most professional athletes aren’t perfect role models or mentors for our young people. and no one is. but coming pretty close are the mentors and teachers within the nation’s amateur and professional ski racing community. thank you, coaches! equal slopes™ has a simple mission: introduce kids to this sport and community)

NOT OUR MISSION:

1. find the next Olympian (let’s keep our eye on the ball, folks);

2. waste money on admin staff expense (admins are all volunteers; the only folks paid are independent coaches for their expertise and specific time on hill);

3. save the world (such lofty ideals are reserved for avengers and religionists);

4) self-promotion (nothing here other than a human desire to expand the sport, get kids on their edges, and watch them whoop at the lateral acceleration)
